Route of Administration of Continuous IV Medications The choice of venous access for the administration of continuous IV medication depends on the hemodynamic status of the patient, the general condition of the vasculature, and the nature of the medication being infused. Continuous infusions of dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, epoprostenol and phenylephrine must be administered through a central venous line, In emergency situations, these drugs may be initiated peripherally, however, central venous access must be established as soon a the patient condition allows. In certain, prescribed conditions, ie; carotid endartarectomy or stents, where the vasopressor is used to maintain the MAP to prevent occlusion and not for hypotension, Phenylephrine may be used peripherally. The dosage of Phenylephrine is 10mg 250ccNS and should be started at a low dose 0.5mcg Kg min or less, then titrated as needed for MAP. Recommended time limit is 12 hours. Central lines should still be used for all other pressors or if the pt is hemodynamically unstable, in order to have a line appropriate for fluid rescutitation. Default Diluent Dextrose 5% in water will be the UTMB Default diluent unless a drug is not compatible in dextrose containing fluids. For patients admitted to the Neurology or Neurosurgery services, the default diluent will be 0.9% Normal Saline unless a drug is not compatible in sodium chloride containing fluids. A total of 50 patients suffering from various musculoskeletal disorders 20 patients suffering from OA, 10 patients suffering from lumbar cervical spondylosis, 8 patients suffering from acute sprains, 4 patients suffering from post-traumatic stiffness and 8 patients suffering from peri-shoulder arthritis were included in the study. All the patients were advised to apply a small quantity of Rmalaya gel topically to the affected region, with gentle massage, twice daily for a period of 3 months in case of OA, spondylosis, post-traumatic stiffness and peri-shoulder arthritis ; and for a period of 4 weeks in case of sprains ; . All the patients were assessed for the pain relief, swelling, tenderness, early morning joint stiffness, joint mobility and muscle cramps. Response to the treatment was evaluated on a predefined score scale, from 0 to 5 maximum pain and 0 no pain ; . All the patients were assessed for any local adverse reaction like irritation, burning stinging sensation and erythema and benemid.
Moreover, the person with spinal cord injury lives his current situation with serious difficulties, since it completely destroys self-perception of body schema. This "new situation" also modifies the relationship between the subjects and the team because prognosis is not always clear and the team is called upon to face new requests and try to reach the objectives which gradually become outlined. We have developed a method for immunofluorescent staining of peroxisomes using a polyclonal antibody to the 70-kD peroxisomal membrane protein PMP70, also known as ABCD3 and PXMP1 ; and fluorescent cadmium selenide-based nanocrystals called Quantum Dots Qdots ; . The unique composition and structure of these nanocrystals lead to highly desirable optical properties, such as, quantum yields of over 50%, narrow emission peaks, remarkable photostability and a large Stokes shift, provided by the exceptionally broad excitation range. Using streptavidin-coated Quantum Dots and the PMP70 antibody, we successfully stained, visualized and quantitated peroxisomes in standard formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded rat and monkey liver sections after in vivo treatment with fibrates. We also detected peroxisomes in formalin-fixed slides prepared from a normal human liver and clavamox.

| Rumalaya for womenThe trial conducted by us in patients with chronic cervical spondylosis with the indigenous preparation Tumalaya showed excellent results in seven cases, fair in 2 cases and poor in 1 case as shown in Table III. This improvement was recorded without any untoward symptoms like intolerance and gastric upset. These patients have not reported to our clinic with recurrence for the last 6 months as they were doing previously, thereby showing the overall efficacy of Rumalayya over other analgesics. INTRODUCTION Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic disease of insidious onset and obscure aetiology characterised by bilateral symmetrical involvement of both small and big joints of the body. Despite the large number of drugs at our disposal, few are effective pain relievers. Besides, they have considerable side-effects when used both as short term or long term therapy. In rheumatoid arthritis, aspirin, salicylates, pyrazoles, indomethacin, corticosteroids. gold, anti-malarial agents, immunosuppressives, penicillamine and irradiation have all been tried, but none is completely free from toxicity and sideeffects. Recently interest has therefore revived in indigenous drugs like `Rumalaya' in the management of this chronic and crippling disorder. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of `Rumalaya' and to assess its toxicity if any, on long-term therapy. During drought at exorbitant rates. During good rainfall years there is a high potential of production of fodder from wastelands, marginal lands, community lands and by assigning some parts of arable lands. High priority should be given to the production of fodder and creation of fodder banks for the locally grown fodder. About 1, 200 fodder banks are proposed. Women experiencing these symptoms may want to ask their doctors to run a blood test to determine the amount of testosterone in their bodies. Testosterone levels can be measured in two ways. One method is to look at total testosterone, which measures the total amount of the hormone that is in your body. The optimum level of total testosterone for women is between 50 and 100 nanograms per deciliter. For men, it is approximately 500 to 1000 ng dl. ; The second measurement looks at free testosterone, which measures the amount of the hormone that is actually available to be used. Women should generally have 1 to 2 free testosterone. Testosterone levels decline with age, so optimum levels may vary slightly from person to person. Some medications, such as ketaconazole, Megace, or Prednisone, may also affect hormone levels. Taking all these factors into consideration, this clinical trial of Rumalaya was undertaken. In this trial the effect of the two indigenous drugs, Rumalaya tablets and cream was assessed in addition to the conventional treatment with anti-inflammatory drugs and corticosteroids. MATERIAL AND METHODS Twenty cases of acute rheumatic arthritis were taken up for the trial. The particulars of the patients were as follows.
